- Support 401(k)/Savings Plan and Profit-Sharing administration
- Primary liaison with Defined Benefit administrator related to research and inquiries
- Primary contact for employees and term vested employees for escalation of questions, paperwork, research relating to retirement plans
- Manage eligibility process for Disability Retirements
- Liaison between NGC and retirement vendors. Maintain contact with account managers by participating in meetings and reviewing outstanding issues for resolution
- Monitor vendor compliance with plan documentation and National Gypsum requirements
- Update Summary Plan Descriptions and communicate changes to plant locations and vendors
- Prepare life insurance claims for active employees and retirees
- Counsel Family members on life benefits and coordinate with all parties (payroll, pension, medical, etc.)
- Coordinate Waiver of Premiums with vendor if participant is eligible
- Administer 401(k)/Savings Plan reports, as well as administering the funding of employee and employer contributions and employee loan payments
- Review and pay invoices allocating appropriately and track expenses
- Reconcile weekly Health Savings Account reports for employer contributions
- Prepare Pension Trust Funding
- Maintain files and notify Retiree Medical Exchange of upcoming eligible retirees and grandfathered subsidy amounts
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources plus five years of benefits administration experience
- Equivalent training, education and work experience will be considered
- Successful candidates will have a strong working knowledge of design and administration of savings/401(k) and retirement benefit plans
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Minimal travel is required
- Accuracy, time management, organization and communication skills are essential
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to use a great deal of judgment and initiative
- Strong human relations and interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality
- Working knowledge of governmental compliance
- Ability to work with employees, supervisors and outside business partners
