As our Electrical Superintendent, you will have oversight of the E&I and underground electrical maintenance team to keep our production going and our profitability up at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You will be in charge of organizing, managing, and evaluating electrical and instrumentation aspects of electrical projects and programs. You will be called upon to work cooperatively with others as part of a team, and encourage collaboration, trust, and openness among employees. The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing approximately 450 people. Here’s what you can expect in this role:

• Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.
• You will provide electrical services to the site in project investigation, design, and implementation to ensure the ongoing electrical development and improvement of plant infrastructure.
• You will supervise or may serve as a technical expert in the design of small/simple to large/complex construction, expansion or modification electrical/instrumentation projects using sound data measurement & collection, calculations, analysis, interpretation and problem solving.
• You will analyze daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance reports to ensure electrical is operating within overall budget expectations, develop capital and operating budgets, and prepare reports and budgets that summarize and forecast electrical activity.
• You will develop the electrical plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards to ensure that activities conform to established company standards. You will establish policies for inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment; assign and direct activities of service and repair personnel indirectly through electrical supervisors; and follow up on work and repairs being made.
• Safety is important. You will be accountable to ensure safe and environmentally sound practices are embedded in the culture.
