We are currently seeking an EFT Card Specialist to join our team at our Sunrise
Corporate Office!

The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbors' financial lives. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality of service to both internal and external members. The person for this role will have extensive knowledge in the payments card industry and be familiar with card operational procedures. In addition, this position supports members and credit union staff with card services, which include day-to-day functions, monthly and annual processes. This person will also assist leadership with projects and research while continually looking for processes and portfolio improvements.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service
  • Standards and Promises. Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative and creativity in seeking ways to improve the performance of debit card portfolio and the EFT Department in general. Complete all assigned tasks and projects within prescribed periods and with minimal follow-up.
  • Perform daily maintenance of debit card portfolio and assist internal members with questions and problems concerning debit cards, monitor debit card related reports, perform quality control of debit card orders and process returned debit cards according to the departmental procedures.
  • Maintain debit card reward program.
  • Perform daily balancing of debit card transaction.
  • Work closely with the EFT Senior Specialist to understand and be able to back up their functions, while developing a better understanding of POS and ATM transactions in general.
  • Maintain the Card Control App Program.
  • Perform back up functions for other EFT Specialists as needed.
  • Process refunds for online account applications and perform monthly reconciliation.
  • Perform back up functions for other EFT Specialists as needed.
  • Work closely with the EFT Senior Specialist to understand and be able to back up their functions, while developing a better understanding of POS and ATM transactions in general.

  • Maintain current knowledge of debit card related regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and update procedures related to the job functions.

  • Maintain knowledge with training:

o BSA Compliance – every employee is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with BSCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department. In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Department. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy
Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act.

Performance Measurements:

1. To provide outstanding service to internal and external members as defined by our service standards and promises.

2. To carry out assigned responsibilities with zero errors according to established departmental standards.

3. To complete tasks within the prescribed time frame.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience: One year to three years in a financial institution or card services company.

Education: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or equivalent work experience.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills: Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with members, supervisors and staff. Ability to multi-task and to prioritize many daily functions, while working with conflicting deadlines. Must have excellent communication, member service and human relation skills. Must have good knowledge of Excel and Word applications. Must have proficiency in data entry, using various applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 - $29.00 per hour
