About Bunker Hill Community College:

The statewide network of community colleges is an essential resource for supplying the high demand of qualified Early Childhood Educators throughout the state. Together the 15 community colleges have expansive capacity and demonstrated expertise in design and delivery of Early Childhood programs for all learners, however, there currently is not a fully developed system in place for the colleges to coordinate their education programs consistently. The proposed Early Education and Care (EEC) Workforce Liaison housed at the MACC office would create this statewide structure, to:

  • information and resources across the higher education and workforce training systems.
  • Expand and enhance the Early Education landscape through collaborations with childcare entities, government agencies, and other educational institutions.
  • Expand and improve access to training and pathway opportunities.

Job Description:

For the purposes of the work outlined and not negating any current standing meetings as related to the Pathway grant, serve as a single point of contact between Early Ed and Care and campus contacts, including deans, program directors, and grant managers. By building cross-agency partnerships and collaboration there would be a shared vision and an increase of support from both educational institutions and political leaders.

  • Collaborate across all 15 college campuses to explore a statewide agreement to build pathways for certification leading to employment from past early childhood experience and formal classroom training leading to potential degree completion creating a sequence of stackable, portable credentials that reflect the sophisticated science of working with young children, combined with the supports educators need to advance their individual career progression on that pathway.
  • Pursue state policy and administrative reforms to promote a career pathway system to support implementation.
  • Convene regular meetings of designated Early Ed and Care and Community College representation (EEC Workforce Working Group) to ensure regular sharing of information across colleges and collaboration towards shared statewide goals.
  • Support exploration of non-English training modules for EEC coursework.
  • Assess system-wide change and measure performance outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Identify and engage employers in the development of career pathways and employment opportunities.
  • Raise and/or leverage resources

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Has an awareness of NAEYC and NECHE Accreditation requirements and standards.
  • Is familiar with EEC curriculum within higher education.

Additional Information:

This is a Part Time, Non-Benefited Position. Salary is $50/hour @ 18.5/hours per week. This position will work remotely with occasional travel to the colleges as required.

Application Instructions:

Candidates for employment should be aware that all Community College students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated. Accordingly, initial employment is dependent upon receipt and verification of full vaccination status records; details of how to fulfill vaccine record verification requirements will be provided during the hire and onboarding process. MACC does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship. All offers of employment are based on appropriate U.S. work authorization.
