JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary/Objective

Fuels, cleans, and parks a fleet of quad-axle dump trucks ensuring they are ready for the driver s assignments.

Primary Functions


  • Ensure each dump truck receives the following services:
    • Fill each fuel tank with diesel fuel
    • Ensure the diesel exhaust fuel (DEF) reservoir is full
    • Wash exterior of each truck daily
    • Detail the exterior of each truck weekly
    • Skillfully maneuver dump trucks between fueling and wash stations
    • Understand the functions of a quad-axle dump truck
    • Park each dump truck on the ready line, backed in
    • Elevate each dump bed for drainage
    • Be available to detail truck interiors upon request
    • Be available to remove hardened materials from the dump bed

Secondary Functions

  • Wash heavy equipment during periods where dump trucks are not available for services
    • Crews are sometimes working out of town or night shifts where they are unavailable for service
    • During these periods, the attendants will clean heavy equipment

Hourly Pay

Pay starts at $14 per hour

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing throughout shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a part-time hourly position, normally working Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays.
  • The workday will normally begin at 5:00 pm through approximately 10:00 pm
  • The position may require extended work hours at times.

Travel

  • Redstone Construction only operates within the state of Arkansas.
  • There may be occasions where the member is required to stay overnight in an out-of-town hotel.
  • Hotel rooms are furnished by Redstone Construction.
  • Employees receive $50 per diem pay for each night s stay in an out-of-town hotel.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school education is plus

  • Ability to drive and maneuver commercial vehicle quad-axle dump trucks
  • A commercial driver s license is not required for this position because the driver will not travel on the roadway
  • Ability to operate a high-pressure washer
