Location: Wolfe Industrial, Inc. shop
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Shop Foreman
Supervises: No one
Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of safe driving practices and safe loading/unloading techniques that comply with DOT regulations. In addition, this person must be knowledgeable of the area in which we deliver product to customer sites, be able to effectively communicate with both shop, field and customer personnel and handle himself in a professional manner.
Requirements: DOT Health Card, safe driving history and maintained while employed, ability to sit for extended periods of time, must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Load and unload product onto trucks up to 75 lbs. in weight.
- Ensure that the load is secure prior to driving a company truck.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws concerning the operation of a vehicle at all times while in a company vehicle.
- Must report all accidents involving company vehicles, regardless of severity, to the police, your supervisor and the Safety Director.
- Must report all traffic violations in a company vehicle immediately to your supervisor and the Safety Director.
- Must verify receipt of all goods prior to signing pick tickets from suppliers. Related, must verify that all delivery receipts are signed upon delivery of product.
- When required, must be able to safely communicate with others via a hands-free cell phone while operating the vehicle.Other:
- Must sign in and out company vehicles before and after use by logging your name, date, the time of use, and purpose of use on the truck log. Keys are to be returned to the appropriate hanger in the key box.
- Must ensure that company vehicle is fueled prior to returning it to the fleet parking area.
- Must remove trash from the interior of the vehicle following each use of a company vehicle.
Context Information:
Will be held solely accountable and responsible for all work performed on the job. All responsibilities will take place in a well-lit environment, whether indoors or outdoors.
Supplementary Information- Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids (MTEWA) required for completion of function
The following items will be utilized by the DRIVER to successfully fulfill the requirements of this position:
- Forklift
- Straps, Rope, come-a-longs
- Company vehicle
- Cellular phone
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Current DOT Health Card
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- The ability to read, write, and complete basic mathematic computations
- The desire to learn and the eagerness to accept other tasks and learning opportunities as they present themselves
