Current Position Openings:

• Part Time
• Some weekends may be required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Regular attendance is required and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as scheduled.
• Transport residents to scheduled outings such as doctor appointments, social activities and special events as needed.
• Assist completely independent residents boarding and de-boarding the bus as requested. Board and de-board residents confined to a wheelchair. If any assistance is required in physically transferring a resident, a community nursing team member will accompany and assist the resident. The van driver is not to physically transfer any resident at any time.
• Observe residents for unusual behavior and report to Nurse in charge.
• Complete incident reports regarding resident injuries, etc., and report to supervisor and Charge Nurse.
• Keep van safe, maintained; clean interior and exterior as needed. Maintain vehicle CPR and first aid kits.
• Monitor daily schedule. Arrange pick up and delivery of residents to accommodate appointment times.
• Communicate daily with nursing department regarding schedules.
• Maintain positive relationship with all departments, residents and volunteers
• Arrange for substitute driver as needed.
• Arrange for service repairs as needed.
• Monitor and maintain van fuel and fluids as indicated.
• Carry walkie talkie and phone.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification/License:

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Valid drivers license, CDL
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions
• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish
