Job Summary

Emulsion Products is currently seeking a few qualified individuals to drive for our company as line drivers. This is a seasonal position with the possibility of continued seasonal employment.

Main Responsibilities


Responsible for loading/unloading trucks and emulsion tanks; connects hoses from storage tank to truck tank and moves lever to fill pressure tank with asphalt liquid

Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT regulations and company guidelines

Checks fluid levels, tires, lights and other controls for safe operation. Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment refer major problems to the supervisor

Keep accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for invoicing

Ensure product quality to the best of the Driver's ability

Obey applicable laws and follow the dispatch instructions

Must keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Class A CDL with double/triples, hazmat and tanker endorsement and a clean driving history

Skills

  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Prior experience operating a commercial vehicle in an industrial, construction or similar environment preferred
  • Member of the Alaska Teamsters Local 959 or the ability to join
  • Ability to read and understand written and/or verbal instructions
  • Complete required documentation related to the role

Physical Requirements

Must be willing and able to climb onto and up/down a vehicle several times a day

Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

Regularly required to use hand to move and manipulate objects

Be able to communicate (talk and hear)

Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl

Standing/working on feet for long periods and walking across uneven terrain

Frequent exposure to loud noises, working around heavy machinery and mobile construction equipment

Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, fuel, oil and other chemicals
