Center Point, a California-based nonprofit agency providing outpatient and residential behavioral health, housing, and vocational services, seeks a Deputy Director. Center Point, Inc. has expanded over the years to become one of the nation's leading health and social services agencies with programs in California and Texas; and is a large contract service provider for many correctional institutions and multiple counties therein. Today, Center Point serves more than 4,000 men and women each year providing comprehensive, evidence-based services for homeless individuals, veterans, substance users, women with children, families, adolescents, those who are unemployed, and those involved with the criminal justice system.

AGENCY GOALS

Center Point offers a wide range of treatment options and social services for at-risk individuals. Services include assessment and evaluation, residential and outpatient treatment, transitional and permanent housing, job preparation training, vocational programs, and job placement assistance, case management, and specialized gender-appropriate services. Ongoing support is provided through continuing care, aftercare, transitional housing, and supportive services.

THE COMMUNITY Marin County, California, is home to a community of approximately 250,000 engaged and culturally diverse residents. Marin is located in the North Bay across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco and adjacent to the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma Counties. Marin is a highly desirable place to live and is known for its combination of rural and suburban lifestyles, excellent schools, entertainment and recreational activities, and a mild climate year-round. Outdoor recreation in Marin County includes whale migration and bird watching, garden tours, golf, hiking, running, mountain biking, horseback riding, sail boarding, surfing, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing.

THE POSITION The Deputy Director assists the designated Vice President in the planning, development, establishment, and implementation of clinical services, operations, and administrative support through the supervision of administrative support staff, Program Managers, and other programmatic supervisory staff. Duties include but are not limited to:

ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS

1.Follows dictates of the Executive Management Team in establishing, developing, and implementing strategies for achieving contractual objectives, organizational policies, and refinement of the Agency’s Services Delivery Model.

2.Reviews program activity and unit report to determine progress toward objectives; revise plans in accordance with current conditions.

3.Provides supervision, training, and development for Program Managers and other programmatic supervisory staff.

4.Administers and maintains Agency industrial, labor, and public relations policies.

5.Reviews personnel performance for compliance with established policies and objectives.

6.Supervises clinical policies and operations and quality assurance reviews.

7.Coordinate staff training, and review staff evaluations; make recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, and discharge of employees.

8.Supervises data collection and reviews and edits all reports prior to their being published.

9.Serves as Agency liaison to funders, stakeholders, and members of the community.

10.Implements new programs and projects.

11.Supervises evaluation, research, and data collection.

12.Analyses data collected throughout the Agency; presents recommendations for changes, additions, deletions, and the implementation of new service elements.

COUNSELING AND CLINICAL TASKS

1.Trains direct services and supervisory staff; Supervises Program Managers and other programmatic supervisory staff.

2. Assures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations including building and fire codes.

3.Reads, reviews, and summarizes regulations, policies, and procedural manuals relating to the operation of Agency programs and services.

4.Develops written, narrative, and statistical reports on a variety of aspects of treatment.

5.Reviews and edits reports written by program site managers and coordinators related to the management information system.

6.Develops, implements, and monitors clinical and behavioral treatment strategies for individuals with drug and alcohol problems.

7.Oversees the delivery of client-centered interventions.

8.Implements problem-solving techniques between staff and clients, and staff and colleagues.

9.Directs outreach efforts to ensure high-priority clients are recruited for treatment.

10.Monitors and renews in a timely fashion all licenses and certification standards for all program sites and services.

11.Monitor internal and external clinical quality control standards for the implementation of treatment services.

12.Interact with diverse clients and staff in a culturally sensitive manner.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities listed herein. Typically, this includes:

  • Board of Behavioral Science- Clinical licensure required

( LMFT,LPCC,LCSW,Psychologist,Psychiatrist ) .

  • A Master’s degree in health care administration, public health, psychiatric nursing, psychology, sociology, counseling, public administration, business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university, and
  • Several years administrative or management experience at the level of division director, program manager, and/or center or facility manager in a mental health or substance abuse services program, or closely related health or human service program.
  • Knowledge of California policy related to health and human services.
  • By time of hire, obtain a valid California Driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Pass a satisfactory background and reference check process.
