SUMMARY: The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Associate will support the DEI strategy and implementation for the Vikings organization. This role will require strong attention to detail in order to drive initiatives successfully and sustainably. The ideal candidate will be capable of advancing programming from every stage from ideation to completion in support of defined organizational DEI goals and priorities.

In addition to the duties described below, the DEI Associate will take part in the Vikings’ exclusive Leadership Development Program. This program will provide regular opportunities for professional development, exposure to organizational leadership and the ability to develop skills critical for the Associate’s future career growth. A fundamental part of the program will include clearly defined goals between the Associate and their Supervisor that will be tracked and measured for progress throughout the term of the program.

This is a temporary full-time position that will begin on June 5, 2023 and conclude on May 24, 2024, unless otherwise determined.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Supports the organization’s focus on culture and inclusion through the design, implementation and execution of internal and external programs, trainings and other diversity-related initiatives
  • Provides coordination for DEI Council meetings and supports the work of the Council
  • Strategizes on DEI projects and initiatives and provides support for execution of DEI programming
  • Oversees management of the Sensory Room at U.S. Bank Stadium on game day, including coordination of volunteer staffing and related logistics
  • Creates and distributes monthly Diversity Digest internal staff newsletter
  • Conducts research and analysis to support the direction of diversity, equity, & inclusion initiatives
  • Supports organizational communication needs for the DEI Council, Employee Resource Groups and the People & Culture department
  • Provides perspective and opinion on department and organization initiatives and processes
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s degree recommended
  • Passionate about diversity, equity, & inclusion with a demonstrated commitment to championing DEI efforts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices and trends in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, including familiarity with key concepts (ie cultural competence, unconscious bias, etc)
  • Must be a self-starter and very detail-oriented when it comes to completing tasks
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
  • Ability to connect with employees and understand their needs
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills
