Key responsibilities for the role:

  • A true marketer at heart - develop and implement go-to-market plans promoting Harlem Globetrotters ticketed touring events and other Herschend Entertainment experiences in key markets throughout North America
  • A collaborator working with internal and external teams and partners including venues, media, consumer marketing, public relations, sponsorship, operations, among others, to drive brand and business objectives
  • Audience-driven focus – possess a clear understanding of target audience focus to allow you to research and identify where and how we connect with them through live event marketing campaigns and other initiatives
  • Know the market landscape – be an expert on key markets in the US from an event, brand or product marketing standpoint; have a method to how to become a quick study on new markets to guide market penetration

Functional Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive promotional marketing plans to drive attendance to ticketed events in 40-45 markets
  • Manage work back schedule and timelines for ticketed events (box office, on-sales, promotional offers, discount offers, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with market venues/arenas, key stakeholders, etc.
  • Develop and coordinate implementation of venue marketing plans across the portfolio of available assets to promote events
  • Develop and execute 3rd party promotions with relevant brands/organizations to drive event awareness and conversion; partners can include CBOs, FBOs, educational centers, retailers, media outlets, etc.
  • Develop and implement mutually beneficial trade, influencer marketing promotions
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop/produce venue specific content needs; local marketing toolkit
  • Identify marketing creative asset needs and coordinate production and distribution in alignment with brand guidelines
  • Pitch and catch between fan experience to promote premium experiences and providing day-of- game activation needs
  • Marketing budget management as assigned
  • Daily sales and inventory tracking for each market; make recommendations to adjust as needed
  • Post-game/tour recaps providing actionable insights to inform future planning
  • Assist with advertising invoices and marketing expenses for each market’s settlement; settle expenses with venues in advance of each event
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of brand management, live event marketing experience with Bachelor’ Degree, and MBA nice to have
  • Experience in entertainment, brand marketing, sports, and/or live events
  • A genuine passion for marketing and the Harlem Globetrotters
  • Self-starting personality and highly motivated, strategic, and creative
  • Quick witted and adaptable to a fast-paced environment/industry
  • Excellent communication, cross-group collaboration, and planning skills
  • Experience being accountable to executive leadership
  • Passion for driving cultural change
  • Great collaborator who thrives working with others
  • Cool with handling differences of opinion, with your own strong opinions lightly held
