Polymedco is a leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributer in the clinical laboratory marketplace. Polymedco supplies clinical diagnostic test kits and devices that are specialize din hematology and cancer. We are a world leader in non-invasive colorectal cancer screening technology, providing the new standard of care with the OC-Auto® product line. Our PATHFAST® cardiac biomarker analyzer provides core lab results at the point of care, quickly diagnosing at risk cardiac patients.

We are currently looking for Director of Operations to join our Cortlandt Manor NY location as we expand our business.

.Job Summary:

The Director of Operations, working with the VP of Operations, will be responsible for managing all Operational activities to include, Warehousing, Receiving, Shipping and Kitting. The Director of Operations will work closely with the company’s cross-functional teams to ensure the business’ financial, operational and strategic initiatives are met.

Essential Functions and Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs:

§Provide effective leadership to his/her organization to ensure consistent attainment of the expected results

Leads and develops his/her staff, driving accountability, decision making, and enterprise-wide collaboration

Work closely with Vice President of Operations, Department Managers and other key personnel in the development of both tactical and strategic plans for Polymedco.

Establish operational metrics and goals and develops actionable plans to achieve them consistently

Implement operational tools, such as Lean/Six Sigma, capacity analysis, warehouse management techniques, inventory managements, etc., to maintain the operational in an optimal state

Leads the Supplier Relationship Management to secure products and services, cost and quality are attained

Manages all aspect of the warehousing operations, to include cGMPs, capacity optimization, inventory control, product flow, and delivery of goods

Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures pertaining to his/her role and direct reports

Emphasis on safety practices at the workplace, following OSHA and Company policies and procedures

Drive cost reductions through an effective Value Improvement Program, aimed at reducing operational cost year-over-year

Make recommendations for corrective actions necessary to assure conformity with quality specifications and SOPs

§ Maintain a good standing relationship with the landlord, while ensuring their timely support for repairs and upgrades, where needed. Oversee and manage the building’s lease agreement.

§ Provide a healthy and nurturing environment for his/her staff, empowering them to make fact-based decisions, and promoting openness, transparency and collaboration within the organization

Maintain current knowledge base of Clinical Diagnostics industry

Domestic and International travel are required for this role

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college preferably in Operations, Supply Chain, business or finance

Minimum of 10 years of Operations experience, preferably experienced in managing a warehousing operation in medical diagnostics and/or distribution environment

A flexible, self-demanding and proactive individual who can motivate themselves, their employees, and others successfully in a highly dynamic environment.

Creative thinking and strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

Experience making decisions and track record of managing multiple projects and issues successfully.

Advanced-level financial and analytical skills; embraces fact-based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and modeling.

Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of management and employees with additional ability to build and maintain internal relationships

Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.

Working knowledge of computer programs such as Power Point, Word, and Excel

§ Willing to travel to company and suppliers sites ( up to 30% of the time)

Reporting to this position: Plant and Facilities Manager, Production Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
