Specific Responsibilities:

This position’s primary responsibilities will fall into three categories: fundraising, communications, and support for the CEO.

Fundraising

  • Lead and coordinate all activities to support the organization’s Pilgrimages Program.
  • Research, identify, and cultivate non-governmental funding sources.
  • Research and develop ideas for other special fundraising projects.

Communications

  • Lead and manage the organization’s websites, including updating the site regularly with new content and design elements.
  • Work with program leadership and staff to capture new content.
  • Coordinate, edit, and publish the organization’s monthly newsletters.
  • Work with program leadership and staff to fulfill any communications requirements for grant programs.
  • Manage and grow the organization’s social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram.
  • Propose and lead new communications projects (e.g., an Annual Report).

Support for the CEO

  • Coordinate with program and fiscal leadership to compile resource binders for the three annual board meetings.
  • Lead board meeting logistics, including reservations and transportation for members.
  • Support the work of the CEO and Catholic Charities of California United’s lobbying team at the Capitol.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by the CEO.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong, effective working relationships with CCC staff, local agencies and other partners.
  • Produce quality work and drive continuous quality improvement of the program that aligns with CCC’s standards of excellence.
  • Keep the CEO apprised of specific areas requiring attention and for recommending and implementing appropriate action.
  • Work independently to ensure that all assignments are completed promptly.
  • Work on-site and/or remotely dependent on the organization’s requirements which may change over time.
  • Travel within California as needed to support job functions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least five years of experience in a closely related field (e.g., Communications, Fundraising/Development, Non-Profit Management).
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including in MS Office (PP, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to analyze and efficiently resolve problems with excellent judgement.
  • Experience working with professional collaborative teams.
  • Demonstrate skill, professionalism, competence, good judgement, and polite behavior at all times in the workplace.

Required Education: Minimum BA with five years of related experience

Preferred Minimum Experience:

  • Non-Profit Management: 3 years;
  • Communications: 5 years,
  • Fundraising/Development: 3 years.

Background: Catholic Charities of California, Inc. (CCC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit representing twelve local Catholic Charities Organizations (LCCOs) in California at the state level. Every year, these organizations provide more than 1.5 million professional social services to Californians who need help.

California’s LCCO network is the largest non-profit provider of social services in the state. CCC identifies and acquires contract- and grant-based funding on behalf of the network; CCC passes through funding to LCCOs and provides oversight, support, and technical assistance to LCCOs to deliver funded services.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
