Job Summary

Promote the club’s banquet facilities and grounds for private banquets, business, and social meetings, and other member-related activities. Develop contracts for and oversees all administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events. Work with all departments of the Club to assure that the guests’ expectations are exceeded.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

  • Promotes, advertises, and markets the Club’s Social Event facilities and capabilities to all members. Works with Marketing to publish the Member Social Calendar, weekly social event updates, and highlights from previous events.
  • Helps member clients arrange banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances, and other social events; obtains pertinent information needed for guest planning.
  • Provides guest tours and offers suggestions in efforts to sell the club’s facilities for the occasion being planned.
  • Works with the Chef to determine selling prices, menus, and other details for catered events; oversees the development of contracts.
  • Transmits necessary information to and coordinates event planning with production, serving and housekeeping staff; arranges for the printing of menus, procuring of decorations, entertainment, and other special requests, etc.
  • Inspects finished arrangements; may be present to oversee the actual greeting and serving of guests.
  • Works with Banquet Manager to ensure all details of the function sheets are executed properly and in the scheduling of food and beverage service employee meetings.
  • Maintains past and potential client files; schedules calls/visits to assess ongoing needs of prospective clients for catering services.
  • Works with the Clubhouse Manager to prepare annual budgets for Private Events, Member Club Events, and Social Budget Expenses; reviews financial reports and takes corrective actions as appropriate to help assure the budget goals are met
  • Helps guests with parking, entertainment, decorations, audio/visual, and any other requirements integral to events being planned.
  • Works with the Chairman of the Entertainment Committee to facilitate committee meetings, and develop Member Social Calendar.
  • Obtains necessary permits for special events/functions.
  • Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of the Paradise Valley Country Club.
  • Arranges prompt payment for all events.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager.


Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field and/or professional experience required.

Leadership in culinary sales experience preferred within a hospitality or country club environment
