Position Purpose:

The Director of Business Insights drives the reporting and visualization function for our organization. This person will lead a team of professionals to propel the organization forward and ensure OKR achievement. They will have the ability to drive insights by business unit as well as across the organization to help leaders make critical decisions. The Director of Business Insights must be a bridge-builder who drives execution and eliminates rework within the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and ensure accountabilities for all reporting, monthly round ups, and data visualization outcomes related to Business Unit performance.
  • Train, develop, coach, and evaluate the business insights team as well as matrix-dotted line team members.
  • Maintain a single view, globally, of the common data required by different teams & disciplines to perform their responsibilities and to create client deliverables.
  • Advise and input into central data engineering and development efforts to make commonly required data sets readily available within our central data management platform.
  • Work side by side with senior leadership to create innovative ways of looking at data and understanding how to improve the business.
  • Systematize and standardize utilization of PowerBI and any other visualization tools.
  • Provide options to major outcome initiatives and work with leaders to achieve the stated goals.
  • Lead the data operations team who will deliver ongoing data quality reporting and take proactive measures to improve data quality, as defined by the data standards.
  • Be innovative in how we utilize and display data for our teams and clients to make data-driven decisions.
  • Audit the use of data across the account, ensuring the right data sources are being used to drive decisions and as inputs to products and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand the business and prioritization.
  • Participate in Strategic Services leadership activities and reporting.
  • Drive the monthly operating review process

Job Requirements (including education):

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (industry experience may be substituted)
  • Private Equity experience preferred
  • Knowledge of real estate/property management industry a plus but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated success visualizing business status for all levels of the organization
  • Snowflake query abilities
  • 3 - 5 years PowerBI or Tableau Experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a process improvement-oriented mindset
  • Superior presentation and presentation facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to effectively analyze & resolve issues
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and quality
    • Adaptable to feedback and requested changes
    • Honest, ethical and handles things in a confidential manner
    • Proficient with Google Suite and Internet applications
    • Ability to learn new software systems and direct team members
    • Results-oriented with ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus but not required
