Credit Trading desk makes a secondary market in, and stands ready to purchase and sell, corporate bonds for Truist Securities fixed income investor clients and support our bond origination and syndication business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. In connection with market making, Truist is typically required to maintain an inventory of positions (both long and short), and to establish positions to facilitate liquidity on behalf of our clients.
2. Responsible for managing individual credit trading book with multiple sectors including but not limited to risk management, trade execution, trade analysis, sector analysis, idea generation, and hedging.
3. Accountable for P&L generation and maintaining market share in assigned sectors
4. Active communication and dialog with Credit Research team to define views and trading strategy within the respective industries covered.
5. Independently analyze and evaluate credit market and security specific opportunities.
6. Develop and maintain client relationships across the Credit account base.
7. Work closely with Debt Capital Markets and coverage banking teams to successfully originate and distribute Truist Left Lead deals.

Level-specific duties:

1. Expert skills in managing desk capital to execute firm and customer trades in accordance with desk risk parameters.
2. Responsible for managing individual credit trading book with multiple sectors including but not limited to risk management, trade execution, pre/post trade analysis, sector analysis, idea generation, hedging, and attributable P&L.
3. Practiced professional in the Credit market and has extensive experience demonstrating the ability to independently manage risk (position management/hedging/pair trades/risk assessment/macro analysis).
4. Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
5. Partners closely with research, banking professionals, product specialists, clients and other internal/external constituencies to help drive the business growth.
6. Applies expert risk management skills and sets the standard for risk management practices for Credit Trading in accordance with risk and regulatory limits outlined in the Credit Desk Trader Mandate.
7. Provides efficient, effective and differentiated execution for clients, fellow teammates and stakeholders.
8. Upholds the values of Trustworthiness, Caring, One Team, Success and Happiness to shape desk culture.
9. Maintains extensive and deep current Credit client relationships, a track record of success in the areas of new client relationship development, and advancement of existing client relationships to drive future business growth is expected.
10. Leads support work, business development and/or product/client relationship management when needed.
11. Assists in the generation of ideas and strategies for new business opportunities.

12. Leads all aspects of transaction execution, including organizing teams and handling engagement with internal and external constituencies, and managing resolution of complex client transaction issues.
13. Builds cross-functional relationships within the investment bank and leverages these relationships to aid in communication and desk/firm
14. Assists in training, mentoring, and directing the work of junior teammates

Required Qualifications:

1. BA/BS degree
2. 12 years of related work experience
3. Advanced knowledge of Credit Credit industry, market, and products
4. Proven track record in revenue generation and entrepreneurial nature
5. Extensive track record of prudent risk management
6. Advanced analytical and technical skills combined with a problem solving attitude
7. Excellent interpersonal style, good listening skills and the ability to communicate highly complex ideas clearly and concisely
8. Strong partnering and leadership skills in a complex, matrixed environment

Preferred Qualifications:
1. CFA and/or MBA degree, with a Finance focus
2. 14 years of related work experience
3. Experience in mentoring and coaching
4. Technology / Coding experience (Python, R, VBA, ect.)


The annual base salary for this position in New York is $300,000
