The Director of Compliance will be responsible for the development, implementation and/or enhancement of Together Credit Union’s compliance programs. This role will lead the credit union’s Compliance group, with responsibility for the credit union’s Change Control and Document Management Programs.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide guidance/consultation on regulatory matters and compliance related initiatives to aid the credit union in ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Manage the system(s) utilized by the areas of responsibility.
Oversee the Compliance Management System (CMS).
Oversee the development, drafting, implementation and/or updating of compliance policies and procedures.
Conduct special reviews for management to assess the credit union’s potential exposure to existing or pending compliance regulations.
Participate in the Compliance Committee and support the Compliance Committee charter.
Engage with examiners and auditors and participates in efforts to address findings in all areas of responsibility.
Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
Provide direction and leads the credit union’s overall BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program. Oversee and lead the day-to-day operational duties of the BSA/AM/OFAC compliance program including supervising and leading the BSA/AML/OFAC staff. Serve as the BSA Compliance Officer.
Provide oversight for the credit unions compliance training program and facilitate the record retention program.
Provide direction and leads the credit union’s scanning efforts.
Provide leadership, performance management and improvement feedback, coaching, mentoring and development of member(s) of the Compliance team.
Promote a positive relationship between the members (internal and external) and the credit union and understands that service deliver to members it the number one priority to the credit union.
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Completes all tasks, assignments or functions as assigned and/or required.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
Obtain and maintain a CUCE or CRCM certification.
8+ years of experience as a Compliance officer/manager, preferably at/for a financial institution.
Solid understanding of compliance principles and frameworks.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with those federal and state laws, regulations and codes relating to financial institution. Specific knowledge relating to credit union compliance is a plus.
Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills.
Ability to build trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
Must be able to drive in-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with members and vendors containing sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
Effective in your ability to focus on the task at hand and eliminate distractions to ensure efficient results in tasks performed.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills demonstrated by the ability to; read and interpret documents, write policies and procedures, create reports, and speak persuasively to employees, management, regulators, and vendors.
Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills required.
