Digital Content Manager
ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Digital Content Manager, working with the Communications Team, will be responsible for coordinating, producing and managing all forms of VyStar’s content for online purposes. This role will work to integrate strategies across VyStar’s digital platforms that strengthen the credit union’s brand awareness and improve the reach, effectiveness and personalization of all created content. The Digital Content Manager should have excellent digital communication and interpersonal skills and familiarity with optimizing member experience and business results via digital channels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communications Strategy & Planning
  • Develop, gain buy-in, and oversee execution of the content strategy and plan for VyStar’s public and logged-in sites that optimizes dynamic personalized content to member experience and business results
  • Partner closely with the digital platform team on optimizing site design and user experience strategy
  • Translate data-centric insights into narratives, content journeys, creative ideas, and roadmaps for the financial services audience
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry data and trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective and impactful content
  • Identify new opportunities through leveraging data and testing of content assets (not limited to blogs, white papers, infographics, video scripts, ads, etc.)
  • Other projects as assigned
Digital Content Delivery and Optimization
  • Lead the development of high-quality, engaging content that optimizes our brand identity and business goals.
  • Collaborate with the digital platform team to optimize the design of the user experience to deliver best in class member experience and deliver business goals.
  • Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our brand’s tone and mission using data and creativity.
  • Orchestrate delivery and content promotion across all online platforms (ideation to final execution)
  • Manage search engine optimization (SEO) and content personalization
  • Continuously measure and improve content performance through analysis of Google Analytics and other digital reporting tools. Communicate key results to stakeholders with deep analysis and recommended improvements.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, marketing teammates, data analytics and other departments to create and manage the content process for thought leadership, brand awareness and sales & marketing initiatives
  • Produce high-quality articles using data and new concepts, white papers, blogs, social posts, press releases, email marketing messages, case studies, presentation content, survey reports and web copy
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of content in marketing communications through rigorous quality control, proofing, and data checking
  • Serve as lead editor for firm-generated communications and assist with social media content as needed
  • Utilize project management tools, including Content Calendars, to track Marketing projects
  • Serve as a liaison to the Social Marketing and Digital Experience teams
  • Support development of M&A communication strategies and materials.
Brand Support and Activation
  • Own the delivery of brand standards and voice across our digital platforms – consulting with Brand design team as needed.
  • Expand voice and brand guidelines to cover new digital developments as needed. Communicate and train others across the organization as needed.
  • Lead and deliver key brand amplification and activation content via our digital channels
Product and Member Support
  • Consult with Product Marketing to develop key content and tools to optimize business results on product digital pages.
  • Work with company departments and branches, capturing anecdotes from members and employees and turning them into content appropriate for any and all mediums
  • Develop unique ideas for blogs, newsletter articles and other communications to spotlight product promotions, member resources and more
  • Manage special projects, including planning, developing and executing strategies for editorial content such as Annual Reports
Manage team
  • Hire, train, manage and develop Digital Content Specialist (initially will be contractor)
  • Oversee administrative functions, ensuring smooth daily content operations including managing agency, vendors, and freelancers (as required)
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas in a persuasive, organized and effective manner
  • Must be flexible and comfortable adapting to different writing styles while maintaining VyStar’s core writing standards
  • Keen attention to detail and familiarity with AP style.
  • Solid grasp of social media (appropriate in a professional environment), creatively fostering the firm’s engagement and visibility as a relevant online presence
  • Able to project manage multiple work assignments in a deadline-sensitive environment
  • Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills both in person, on the phone and email
  • Self-directed, able to accomplish projects with little supervision and collaborative
  • Extremely proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good design eye and Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Marketing and management experience
EDUCATION
  • Candidate must possess a minimum of a four-year college degree with specialization in English, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field (or equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience).

EXPERIENCE
  • 8+ years experience in Digital / Content Strategy, UX Content/Content Design or similar; preferably in Financial Services inclusive of:
  • 6+ years experience in digital strategy, user-centered design, roadmaps, and journeys
  • 5+ years leading content development and delivery across multi-functional teams including writing and editing digital content
  • 5+ years tracking digital metrics (Google Analytics and others) and providing reporting and analysis back to business/clients
  • 3+ years developing and owning digital brand standards (including voice)
  • 3+ years directly managing FTE and or contract staff
  • 2+ years of Search Engine Optimization using tools such as Moz, Semrush, Site Improve, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Google Analytics, AdWords, and predictive search
Computer Skills
  • Digital design and content management/strategy tools (e.g. InVision, Figma, Blaze)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager, Ensighten, or equivalent (nice to have)
  • A/B Testing Tools (e.g. Adobe Target, Optimizely, Tealium, etc.) (nice to have)
