This opening is for a per diem, weekend position. Shift times available are 2pm-7:30pm and 11am-7:30pm. Position is open for every weekend, or every other weekend.

JOB SUMMARY: To provide assistance to the cook in preparation and service of meals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides assistance in service of meals and cleaning of equipment
• Meets scheduled meal and snack times
• Follows long term care regulation and dietary department policies and procedures
• Follow cleaning schedules and performs cleaning duties as scheduled
• Uses good sanitation and safety procedures
• Uses equipment and supplies properly
• Attends in-service meetings and training classes
• Follows job schedule and procedure as assigned
• Assists in arranging tray cards, service of meals, and loading of meal carts
• Assists in setting up the dining room and serving residents
• Assists in dish and pan washing, storage, and cleaning duties
• Delivers food carts to nurses station or other designated area
• Assists in service of beverage, vegetables, salads, and desserts as assigned
• Assists with the cleaning of food carts
• Dates, labels, and stores food properly.
• Performs other tasks as deemed necessary by the Dietary Manager or Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience working in a CCRC and or as a Dishwasher and have a positive attitude, willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

• Must be able to follow orders and properly perform the assigned tasks.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must be able to get along and work well with others. Must be in good mental and physical condition.
• Must be able to relate to geriatric residents.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Works in a well-lighted and ventilated kitchen Is exposed to heat in kitchen and storage areas
• May be subject to burns, cuts, scalds, and falls
• Lifts at least 25 pounds
• Sits, stands, stoops, bends, lifts, and walks intermittently during the day.
