JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Minimum one year experience in clinical diagnostic imaging preferred.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures. Knowledge of anatomy & physiology, cross-sectional anatomy, and proper positioning to obtain best imaging. Ability to recognize unusual/abnormal images. Ability to monitor patient’s physiologic changes during imaging and keep physician informed. Excellent communication skills.
  • Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Current WA State Radiologic Technologist Certification. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration or Registry eligible (registry must be obtained within 45 days of hire). Current BLS.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping and stretching is necessary to assist in the movement and repositioning of patients & equipment. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The work involves recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts which require special safety and health precautions, risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, odors, and radiation.

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist I performs diagnostic x-ray in accordance with physicians’ orders and established hospital procedure. The DI Technologist prepares procedures for interpretation by obtaining correct patient histories, preparing the patient chart, and processing the radiographs/images.
