A DevOps Engineer position in Pasadena, CA recently opened to support JPL/NASA. In this role, you will design, build and maintain a high availability common infrastructure environment suitable for flight project use. To be considered for this role, you must have experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Puppet, Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Packer, and Kubernetes. You must also be a US Citizen.

Position: DevOps Engineer
Pay Rate: $60/hr to $87/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 22 months
Flexible work schedule: 1st Shift, 9/80 - This is a HYBRID role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain a high availability common infrastructure environment suitable for flight project use, utilizing modern infrastructure technologies and best practices to automate provisioning and configuring of infrastructure (infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code) for both on premise and the Cloud.
  • Assist with design, implement and support of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Support GDS deployment and maintenance for all venues (WSTS, Testbed, ATLO, OPS) using hybrid on premise and cloud environments.

Requirements:

  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Puppet, Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Packer and Kubernetes, etc.
  • Ability to create and utilize Terraform scripts, Packer, and other related tools to automate creation of ‘fully-baked’ AWS AMI’s and/or orchestrate provisioning of AWS resources
  • Experience with design, implementation and support of continuous integration and continuous deployments (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Proficient in various computer languages and demonstrate a full understanding of programming best practices
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Golang, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix
  • Ability to resolve complex and/or technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction with effective broad-based teamwork skills
  • Able to work after hour or weekend, as needed, to support maintenance or critical activities.
  • Ability to adhere to a shifting schedule for competing tasks and to clearly and objectively report status, issues, and needs for task completion
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of industry best practices in the following areas of IT infrastructure (compute, storage, network database, and cyber security), cloud technologies and managed services, data management, cyber security infrastructure, centralized monitoring infrastructure, , infrastructure-as-code, continuous integration, build & release engineering, automation, and system operations.
  • Experience with design and development of Puppet modules for complex application suitable for deployment onto multiple project compute environments (venues).
  • Familiarity with VMware, NetAPP storage and AWS services.
