Detox Admissions Specialist needed for a mental health and substance abuse institution

Pay Rate: $17-19.50 per hour
Location: Onsite starting in North Stonington, CT for training, transfer to Groton facility once training is complete
Employment Type: Direct Hire + Client Benefits
Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours, 3 days per week, 9:00am - 9:30pm, rotating every other weekend (week 1: Mon, Tues, Sat | week 2: Sun, Mon, Fri)

The origin of our client's facility dates way back to 1945 when it first started out as a farm with a beautiful orchard and has since blossomed into an detox and mental health support institution. Skip forward to 1957 when the owners sold the farm to two determined hospital administrators who introduced the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous to the local community.

As the Detox Admissions Specialist, you will stand side-by-side patients as they start down the path, facing the many challenge and embracing their journey to sobriety. Being the start of people's journey, your team will lean on you to coordinate the admission of clients to the Institute. Provide that initial face-to-face assessment and crisis intervention, schedule appointments for potential admissions, confirm appropriate level of care, facilitate the process and progression of each admission with the referral sources, families, clients and designated treatment staff at the program. Additionally, you will also be cross-trained to perform Detox Support Specialist duties!

Experience and education we'll be looking for.

• Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health and/or chemical dependency population, preferably in a day treatment, residential, or inpatient setting a plus
• Candidates with corrections or security experience (i.e. environments involving people in crisis situations) encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of insurance plans and mental health and chemical dependency treatment coverage preferred
• Must be comfortable working independently and be able to make sound decisions in various situations
