Job Description

We are seeking a dependable individual with a strong work ethic and who works well independently for our transfer and delivery driver position. This candidate will be on the road 3-4 days a week traveling between Indiana Ohio and Pennsylvania. They will be home on the weekends. This candidate will handle all aspects of our warehouse, including moving, transferring, and shipping products to and from our location in LaGrange, Indiana.  They will communicate with our vendors and shippers to build meaningful relationships.  We need someone open to change and willing to help our company to grow.  We will continue to revise and update this job description by adding new responsibilities to meet our future needs.  (Our products are hand-crafted in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, our administrative offices are in Sarasota, FL, and our warehouse is in LaGrange, IN.)

Primary Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks, including both common carriers and blanket wrapper trucks, and organize products according to short-term or long-term storage needs.
• Transfer Amish-made, hardwood furniture between vendor shops and make local deliveries, while assisting with maintenance of the truck(s).
• Deliver furniture to surrounding states in the region, providing an exceptional and memorable experience for the customer, to increase our net promoter score.
• Occasionally assist with pulling and packaging products for our Amazon platform and Outlet.
• Keep a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, loading area, and workstations neat and organized.
• Follow all safety standards and requirements within the warehouse according to company policy and OSHA and notify the supervisor of any and all safety concerns, incidents, and/or accidents.
• Check all products for errors, defects, and other quality issues, and perform minor furniture repairs
• Occasionally build carts and racks to move and store the products to facilitate the organization of the warehouse.
• Assist with customer furniture pickups from the warehouse, label products using branded materials, and perform weekly inventory counts.

Performance Expectations

Results will be measured by the ability to work quickly, lower costs, and decrease damages.

Qualifications

• Chauffeur’s License and a standard driver’s license in good standing required for driving our fleet of box trucks.
• The ability to be helpful, go above and beyond, and be a problem solver
• 1-2 years local delivery, warehouse, and inventory experience preferred
• Organizational skills, detailed-oriented, dependable, reliable, and thorough
• Fast learner, self-starter, and efficient
• People person with pleasant and friendly phone skills

Physical Environment

• Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk and sit on a concrete floor and/or chair for most of the workday. The employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; operate a pallet jack and hand truck and regularly lift, up to 75 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weight more than 100 lbs.
• Special vision requirements are near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
• Warehouse is a conditioned space with an average temperature of 55 degrees.

Compensation:

• Full-time position with compensation of $20.00 per hour while working in the warehouse. Delivery compensation is $.56 per mile plus $12.00 per stop. Benefits offered include health, dental, and vision insurance, along with paid time off and a company 401(k).

• Monday-Friday
• When making transfers and local deliveries, the ideal person can expect to be on the road Monday – Friday and returning on Friday afternoon.
