JOB TITLE: DEFENSE CIVILIAN PAY SYSTEM SPECIALIST

LOCATION: Falls Church, VA

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Less than 10%

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No


We are looking for a Defense Civilian Pay System Specialist (DCPS) to join our team to support our ongoing ERP BI effort.


Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Utilizing Automated Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPS) and Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) to enter employee payroll information, including tax information, status, and direct deposit information for DHA HQ'S directorates as well as MTF.
  • Regularly running reports to identify potential issues with missing timecards, certifications, and incorrect status to mitigate potential issues with employee payroll.
  • Communicating with timekeepers, certifiers, and employees about timecard issues.
  • Researching issues with employee pay errors, following up with employees, and providing a timely resolution.
  • Creating payroll issue tickets in the Defense Financial Accounting Service (DFAS) Remedy database.
  • Assisting with reporting identified payroll metrics to leadership.
  • Completing payroll business processes using documented standards.
  • Conducting Entry on Duty (EOD) orientation activities to onboard employees to the Civilian Payroll systems.
  • Completing employee on boarding and off boarding activities to ensure accurate employee payroll information is reflected in financial systems.
  • Assisting with updating work instructions and other business process documentation for Civilian Payroll.

At a minimum you should have:

  • Experience with the ATAAPS and DCPS systems
  • An Active SECRET clearance.
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with 3+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
