Why does the job exist?

The Data Coordinator of the Office of Primary Care and Rural Health (OPCRH) will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data and information so that requests can be made to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Shortage Designation Branch for areas in the state that meet the criteria to be designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas and Medically Undeserved Areas/Populations.

How does it get done?

1) Responsible for the collection and analysis of data and information so that requests can be made to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Shortage Designation Branch.
2) Responsible for the collection and analysis of requests for assistance from the National Health Service Corps from community based organizations and eligible health care professionals for participation in the loan repayment and scholarship programs administered by the National Health Service Corps.
3) Responsible for the collection, analysis and distribution of data and information to appropriate organizations and individuals located in rural and under-served areas of the State so that they can plan and implement primary care and/or rural health services and programs.
4) Provide technical assistance and support for rural and under-served health centers and health professionals in New Mexico.
5) Establish strong working relationships, build support, and mobilize partnerships to advance OPCRH and DOH goals.

Internal and external customers, such as State and Federal agencies, healthcare organizations, healthcare workforce organizations, and the general public.

Ideal Candidate

1) A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professionaI level experience with healthcare professionals.
2) Be able to work in various State and Federal web-based databases.
3) Experience working with a variety of community organization, internal and external teams, lead community meetings.
4) Exceptional organizational and communication skills;
5) Effectively work independently and as a member of a team.

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Working Conditions

State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.

This position includes activities carried out in an office setting and telework. Statewide travel, with the possibility of out-of-state travel and/or overnight travel, is required. Responsibilities include numerous deadlines, and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently is necessary.
