As a member of the Enterprise Data and Governance team for Enterprise Applications, the Enterprise Data Analyst will be responsible for building and supporting a foundation of robust, scalable, analysis-ready data sets. These data assets will be developed through multi-year efforts and encompass multiple aspects of the ministries/business to enable data-driven decision-making. The products will also allow stakeholders to rapidly conduct analysis, produce actionable insights and answer business questions to execute on strategic priorities. In addition, Analysts will complete data evaluations and enhance the suite of analytical capabilities and tools.

Performs activities related to the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence reporting. Working closely with IT project teams, they will gather reporting requirements, provide recommendations, and supply data to support organizational initiatives.

  • Fulfills data requests for IT Projects and other strategic projects:
    • Works closely with IT Leadership and project teams to analyze data needs for projects, and make recommendations to meet the identified needs;
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, such as comparisons, trending and what-if analysis;
  • Works with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define reporting needs, test, and validate deliverables (reports and analysis-ready data assets);
  • Developing reports, automating processes, and enabling information delivery portals which are shared with appropriate ministry/business stakeholders.
  • Creates new reports and data visualizations using enterprise data warehouse and other systems and tools (Salesforce, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Tableau, and Looker, etc.):
    • Works with requesting stakeholders to understand and validate business/ministry needs;
    • Creates reports utilizing the enterprise suite of analytics tools including but not limited to;
    • Tests reports and works with stakeholders to refine content and presentation of data.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise data warehouse/data lake:
    • Performs activities related to the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise data warehouse;
    • Provides leadership in developing full data warehouse life-cycle systems;
    • Collaborates with clients to understand data warehousing requirements and translate to appropriate technical solution;
  • Developing strong governance around the development and ongoing delivery of solutions;
    • Analyzes source data of diverse types and designs ETL;
    • Collaborates with System Analysts in building simple and calculated measures for a fact table; creates dimension hierarchies and level-based measures; models aggregate tables/partitions/fragments to optimize application performance and usability;
    • Supervises the Data Warehouse model, dimensional data setup using ETL processes, BI report/dashboard setup, maintenance, and administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Enterprise Data and Governance Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to work independently and exercise initiative
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong ability to problem-solve and identify, analyze, and interpret relevant data objectively, applying logical thought and proffering solutions, taking a long-term perspective
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intellectually curious about numbers, data, insights and applications with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas to solve business problems.
  • Authorized to work in the US legally, without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Economics, or Statistics, or in a related field;
  • Three years of experience in data analytics, data analysis and/or business data analytics;
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases (SQL, etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages and tools for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, etc.)
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings, including visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Knowledge of enterprise system software applications (Campus Solutions, Donorflow, Salesforce, etc.)

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Work Hours are M-F, 38.75 hours per week.

No travel is expected for this position.
