Hiring a Customer Technology Center Engineer/Lab Engineer with 5+ years of experience. An ability to fabricate fixtures (layout, cutting, welding, electrical, etc.) is required.

Hiring in Fairburn, GA. Direct hire opportunity, working in the office/on location.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lab Engineer (LE) works as a team member of the R&D Department. The LE is responsible for managing the day to day activities of the company’s Technology Center in Fairburn, Georgia. As a self-starter, the LE must be able to communicate clearly and precisely in a written and verbal manner. The LE must be able to fill out various lab reports, execute experiments, diagnose equipment issues, maintain the lab equipment, and ensure that the supplies required to run customer tests are in stock and ready for use.

Minimal travel will be required. Maintaining the Lab budget, submitting expenses, writing Purchase Orders, and other paperwork will be required. When customer attended testing occurs, the LE will be required to interface directly with customers. The LE will receive direction on customer tests from Application Engineering and close coordination of test setup and execution will be required. A working, hands-on knowledge of blast equipment is very desirable and will be necessary for success in this position. An ability to fabricate fixtures (layout, cutting, welding, electrical, etc.) is required. Training new employees (technicians, engineers, etc.) on the fundamentals of company equipment will be required. The LE must be able to properly and safely operate all machines in the Lab and in the fabrication area of our Warehouse. The Lab Engineer (LE) will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering.

  • Education: 2-year technical degree/certificate
  • Work-Related Experience: 5 years of applicable experience

  • Training new employees (technicians, engineers, etc.) on the fundamentals of company equipment will be required

  • Work Conditions/Strength Requirements: the ability to lift heavy work/fixtures and work a full day while standing
  • Basic computer skills, ability to read blue prints and drawings, have a basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety, able to travel with overnight stays, communication skills necessary to work with management, engineers, customers, and co-workers
  • Possess the ability to conduct training courses with employees and possibly customers, possess the technical knowledge to diagnose, repair, and run customer and company specific equipment

  • Preparing for, conducting, and documenting Customer tests and trials. 50

  • Training new employees on Pangborn Equipment. 5
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 5

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
