The Mission of the
Denver District Attorney's Office
is to professionally and completely prosecute crimes and investigate potential crimes on behalf of the people of the State of Colorado, and in doing so, do justice, advocate for victims' rights and advise and consult in the deterrence and prevention of crime; to ensure the open, evenhanded and humane administration of justice. The office employs approximately 100 attorneys and 150 support staff, who are responsible for more than 6,000 felony and 12,000 misdemeanor prosecutions annually. The elected District Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer in the City and County of Denver, and is responsible for the prosecution of violations of Colorado State Laws. The current Denver District Attorney is Beth McCann.
We are currently seeking a Criminal Investigations Technician to join the Denver Districts Attorney’s Office.
In this role the Criminal Justice Officer will:
- Obtain additional information to include, but not limited to 911 calls, Body Worn Camera footage, Medical Re-lease, Medical Records, Similar Fact cases [404b material], Jail calls, Jail visits, Serious Bodily Injury Forms
- Assists in locating victims and witnesses
- Organizes case materials for review as they relate to civil forfeitures and researches current information to determine ownership
- Prepares written reports as to actions taken
- Executes Court Orders with defendants for nontestimonial evidence, i.e. DNA swabs, fingerprints, and photographs
- Conducts evidence viewings with defense counsel and Deputy District Attorneys
- Provides complete and accurate testimony in Court proceedings
- Performs other related duties, as assigned or requested
About You
We are looking for someone with some or all the following skills and experience:
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness; complete work in a timely manner
- Be able to prioritize and organize large volumes of cases and data
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, victim advocates, secretarial staff, collateral agencies, and crime victims
- Experience in writing detailed reports

- Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of previous criminal investigation experience
- Education and Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
- License/Certification Requirement: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
