POSITION TITLE: GSR (GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE)

REPORTS TO: MANAGEMENT

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Guest Service Representative greets and serves guests, handles merchandise purchases, stocks merchandise displays, and maintains a clean, safe retail environment. We are looking for positive, outgoing people that enjoy working with people. This position requires good communication and cash-handling skills. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and handling their purchases.
• Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record sales and compute the amount of the sale. Collects payment from guests and makes changes.
• Checks merchandise on the sales floor/cooler and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
• Cleans and maintains all areas of the c-store to promote a clean image.
• Ensures that all food and beverage offers are available and fresh for guests.
• Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during food preparation, service, and clean-up.
• Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Clipper Retail Handbook.
• Adhere to all Clipper, federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety regulations.
• Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
• Completes all training courses as directed.

PREREQUISITES:

Education: Some high school or equivalent.

Experience & Skills: No previous experience is required. Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instruction.

Physical: Must be able to work any area of the c-store when needed and operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Working Conditions: C-Store environment with some exposure to discomforting conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and noise from cooling units. Physical demands are moderately heavy, limited to lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and occasionally climbing ladders. Will be on your feet throughout the entire shift.

Pay: $11 - $13 / hour
