SUMMARY: The Controls Installer is responsible for the installation of building automation direct digital controls systems. The primary worksites will be existing commercial facilities and commercial construction projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation of low voltage control wiring
  • Installation of network communication wiring
  • Installation of conduit up to 1” in diameter
  • Installation of building automation hardware such as sensors, panels, actuators, thermostats, etc.
  • Assembly of control panels
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety protocols, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
  • Must possess high level of detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or completion of G.E.D.
  • Degree or diploma from college or trade school preferred
    • Equivalent work experience (1+ years) will be considered in lieu of degree/diploma
  • Criminal background check required for hire
    • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
