Overview:

The B.U. Controller will have an in-depth knowledge of Accounting matters that are pertinent to this legal entity. This person will be a well-rounded accounting professional with ability to oversee the close of a largest B.U. in the company and aggregate the necessary financial information for the global consolidated Financial Statement. This position will serve as a strategic business partner to the corporate leadership team and operating sites and will work closely with members of the finance team and other departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide variety of general accounting functions including, but not limited to preparation, review, and approval of journal entries, month-end closing processes, year-end schedules and reports, and chart of accounts maintenance and control.
  • Build reports between budget and actual results.
  • Ensure overall financial data is kept in accordance with US GAAP Principles.
  • Be the point contact for the components of the global audit that relates to this legal entity.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data in compliance with Public Company standards.
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly cadence in accordance with global close process.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to Divisional CFO, Global Accounting and Finance personal, etc. as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations between local accounting systems and corporate consolidation systems.
  • Ability to prepare various supplemental schedules used within the Global consolidations for the 10Q and 10K SEC documents.
  • Ability to be nimble and ad-hoc requests of financial data for key operational and financial team members within the Company.
  • Be a key member of the ERP conversation team when the Company converts to a Global consistent ERP.
  • Other duties, as requested.
Qualifications:
  • College degree in accounting is required.
  • US GAAP Knowledge is required.
  • CPA would be a plus but not required.
  • Seven+ years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills required.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel are required along with superior data management and analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of financial software and ERP systems.
