Rocky Mountain QC is seeking an enthusiastic Construction Materials Inspector to join our team in West Jordan, Utah. Under general supervision, the Construction Materials Inspector is responsible for conducting field inspections, testing, and sampling of construction materials and associated installation processes.

· Communicate with dispatcher and project manager to ensure priorities and deadlines are met in the filed for assigned duties

· Meet with supervisors, contractors, engineers/architects, representatives or other project leads on assigned projects to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.

· Follow safety procedures; ensure safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all equipment, including nuclear gauges.

· Communicate project progress and delays with project manager and dispatcher.

· Submit accurate and complete testing/inspection reports on a daily basis.

· Operate and maintain a company vehicle to the standards of the company.

· Perform any other duties as assigned.

· Wages - $20-$30/hr based on certifications and years of experience.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED certification, the ability to take and pass examinations for the American Concrete Institute level 1 (ACI), UDOT’s WAQTC SRDT certification, Radiation Safety and HAZMAT within 6 months of employment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc. Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to write short correspondences, notes and inspection reports. Must be safety minded and willing to put safety as a top priority when performing tasks.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or possibly crawl, regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance and talk. Continuously required to hands and reach. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, focus vision, depth vision. Work environments include potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction or roadway sites; potential exposure to hazardous noise, dust, fumes, grease, and oils; all of which would require employee to follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment. Regular use of non-complex machines, equipment, and hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, and picks. Work assignments are frequently performed outside in all weather conditions.

This position may require irregular hours; flexibility to working irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
