Detailed Description:

The Associate Analyst, Government Accounting & Compliance is a vital member of the Corporate Finance and Accounting team. Works to ensure that Brown and Caldwell comply with government regulations, completes certain required company filings, and meets other regulatory requirements. The position reports to the Manager of Government Accounting and Compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external consultants to audit, prepare and analyze financial data to support BC’s annual Incurred Cost submittal
  • Partner with external consultants to coordinate BC’s annual research and development tax credit analysis
  • Support internal customers with the preparation of financial information related to requested pursuit proposals
  • Complete periodic governmental reports and surveys (Producer Price Index, Annual Business Survey, Annual Services Report, Economic Census, etc.), including reporting company-specific information
  • Prepare and file periodic sales tax, use tax, gross receipts tax, and commercial activity tax returns supported by financial data for the applicable period
  • Provide jurisdictional business tax guidance outlining considerations impacting client project proposals
  • Monitor and file periodic business registrations, licenses, and renewals
  • Provide assistance compiling support for client projects and other audits

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other applicable degree
  • 2 - 5 years of government compliance experience; professional services or engineering/construction industry experience preferred
  • Experience with business taxes; software such as Avalara is a plus
  • Experience partnering with government entities to meet business objectives and due dates
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software and integrated accounting systems
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to manage, provide ongoing status, and meet scheduled timelines for deliverables

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $61,000 - $83,000
