The Kuskokwim Corporation is hiring Part-time Community Liaisons for the Villages of Stony River, Sleetmute, Red Devil, Crooked Creek, Chuathbaluk, Upper Kalskag and Lower Kalskag. A Community Liaison will be hired for each village and will work 4 to 6 hours per day. This position will provide general support to Tribal Councils, City Councils, and Shareholders in the community with a variety of TKC forms, projects, updates, and communication. Will be responsible for supporting Administration and Shareholder Outreach Departments as well as Education Foundations. The Community Liaison will also assist with special administrative projects, create, and organize memos, reports, and other documents.

General Office

  • Intake of TKC Shareholder documents
    • Enrollment applications
    • Direct deposit forms
    • Address changes
    • Imagination Library applications
    • Affidavit of ANCSA stock papers
  • Scholarship information & application intake
  • Answer calls, take messages, scan & email documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Outreach

  • Help with special projects within their TKC village if needed
  • Assist with coordination for TKC community and Tribe outreach.
  • Assists with collecting TKC shareholder forms
  • Assist Shareholder Records when needed including obtaining Shareholder Wills, Class B Stock Application, etc.
  • Respond to questions received from Tribal and City Governments and community members
  • Research requests and provide customized information and assistance.
  • Attend village council meetings when necessary and prepare notes.
  • Make presentations on a variety of TKC related topics and provide customized materials to tribes and groups.
  • Work closely with tribes and villages to address Shareholder need, maintain a good working relationship and communication with our villages.
  • Attend in-region tribal gatherings when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Aniak and Anchorage staff to develop and execute subsistence and cultural outreach projects


Land & Resource Assistance

  • Intake of Land Department documents; Shareholder Campsite Permit Applications, House Log Permits, Personal Firewood Permits, Non-Shareholder Recreational Permit, Commercial Firewood Permit
  • Oversees the creation and management of various databases for various permits, campsites, and land inventory
  • Coordinates with Aniak Office on managing Campsite, Land Entry, Recreational, House Log/Timber and Land Use Permit requests in their area
  • Helps Aniak office manage Land Patrol and Permit Program in the fall during hunting season

Skills

  • Possession of strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Individual must be detailed orientated in filing, typing, etc.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Punctual.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Able to multi-task.


Required Education and Experience

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
