Position: Communications and Compliance Administrator


Reports to:
Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent


Assignment:
245 days

7.5 hours/day


Job Summary:
The Communications and Compliance Administrator promotes a positive district image through effective communication with stakeholders and ensures compliance with designated state and federal mandates. This administrator implements data governance processes to ensure accurately and timely data collections and serves as the district Safety and Security Coordinator.


Qualifications:
Administrative certification and experience required; building-level administrative experience preferred. Must have knowledge of child accounting practices, state and federal regulations, and district policies. Excellent communication skills required. Experience with educational software and applications including PIMS, student information systems, and advanced knowledge of Excel.


POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Data

  • Manages the district data governance process to ensure efficient and accurate data systems.
  • Acts as the primary district contact for PIMS and ensures accurate and timely submission of all PIMS collections.
  • Acts as primary district contact for CRDC and ensures accurate and timely submission of the reports.
  • Collaborates with staff to ensure data quality.
  • Collaborates with data stakeholders to ensure data processes and documentation.
  • Manages local child accounting procedures to maintain compliance with state regulations.
  • Prepares for child accounting audits.
  • Attends Data Quality Network (DQN), ACAPA, and other data governance professional development.

Communications

  • Uses the district website to create timely news articles that promote a positive image of the district.
  • Manages the district-level social media accounts to engage the community.
  • Acts as a primary point of contact for the media.
  • Engages district stakeholders on topics of interest or concern, using a variety of strategies.
  • Manages the events calendar on the district website.

Safety

  • Acts as the district's school safety and security coordinator.
  • Manages the Safe Schools reporting processes and ensures timely submission of the reports.
  • Oversees the district's crisis preparedness efforts including planning and reporting emergency preparedness/disaster response drills, fire drills, school security drills, and bus evacuation drills.
  • Coordinates training and resources for students and staff related to safety and security measures.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for Safe2Say and other digital student safety resources.
  • Participates as a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Maintains Memoranda of Understanding with local law enforcement agencies.

Compliance

  • Acts as the Right To Know officer, ensuring compliance with OOR requirements.
  • Acts as the Title IX Coordinator.
  • Ensures compliance with, and associated reporting of, designated state and federal mandates.

Performs other assigned duties as required by the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent.

Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, and reach above shoulder occasionally.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to do repetitive actions including grasping, pushing/pulling, fine-motor manipulation, writing or printing and twisting/turning frequently.

Must be able to use head and neck in static position, flexing and rotating frequently.

Must be able to adhere to daily time schedule.

Must be able to hear (40 decibel loss maximum).

Must be able to communicate verbally.

Must have vision requirements of near acuity of 20 inches or fewer and far acuity of 20 feet or more with depth perception, accommodation, and field of vision.


PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Encompasses all district-operated buildings and grounds. Center of operation is the district office, which is well-ventilated and well-lighted.
