Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an Superintendents with commercial experience for a full-time permanent position in the Fort Myers, Florida area. This project is for a construction start up, for a Fort Myers construction, building a Hotel with a projected start date of 1/23 and completion date of 4/24.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Assembles members of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, cost control, and other workers) at start of project.
  • Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Oversees field supervisory personnel.
  • Manages supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
  • Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision and scheduling for grading, drainage, paving, structures, and other miscellaneous construction crews and subcontractors
  • Oversee field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and overall operations
  • Planning and coordination of construction activities, including work with other company Superintendents and subcontractors
  • Coordinate equipment, trucks, and crews to maximize efficiency
  • Assist Engineers and Estimators as needed, and in the pursuit of new or additional work
  • Attend project related meetings to discuss progress
  • Manage on-site construction-related functions regarding safety, budget, and schedule
  • Display leadership to meet the company values and objectives
  • May assist with survey and field layout
  • Promote and enforce the company’s safety program so that company safety objectives are achieved

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 10+ Years of experience in commercial construction

· Hotel or multi-unit experience

· Block and plank construction experience

preferred but not required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management and/or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create, update and manage construction schedules. Experience with P6 a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet firm deadlines, and problem-solve
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Must be goal oriented and a self-starter
  • Valid driver’s license a must
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Computer Skills:

  • The ability to navigate commonly used engineering software, such as Procore a must!! Literate in P6 a, Primavera, and AutoCAD, would be a plus.
