Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service while collecting past due accounts.
Accountabilities
- Answer incoming and make outgoing Collections calls
- Generate deferred payment plans for delinquent customers
- Navigate, Generate and Complete work orders, and note actions with customers within SAP
- Advise and Negotiate with delinquent customers in accordance with Home Energy Fair Practices Act (HEFPA)
- Process Department of Social Services (DOSS) Vouchers, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) payments, and Charity payments
- Investigate and process return mail and returned payments and credits
- Assist in maintaining the processing of Bankruptcy accounts as they are filed
- Prepare and Maintain various spreadsheets
- Support continuous process improvement activities through engagement of management and staff
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Associates degree preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently, quickly, and accurately
- Must be able to multi-task
- Demonstrates good judgment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Firm yet compassionate when communicating with customers.
- Diligence in following NYS regulations
- Valid NYS driver’s license
