Summary
Coffee Spot Coordinatoris responsible for ensuring Florida State regulations and Orlando Science Center standards are met in coffee and food handling. This position will also be expected to provide exceptional customer service to OSC visitors and educating visitors on the history of coffee.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for completing inventory, ordering, picking up, maintain, and stocking all retail items and processing receipts in a timely manner.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluating all baristas.
- Scheduling of staff in When to Work.
- Direct supervision of the Coffee Spot Staff
- Knowledgeable about all menu items and beverages served.
- Able to answer visitor’s questions regarding such with confidence and accuracy.
- Has complete knowledge and skill of operating/maintaining/cleaning coffee equipment for daily use.
- Prepares all coffee drinks to specification.
- Possess valid Florida driver’s license, maintain a clear driving record, and retain driving approval through OSC’s insurance company.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work area.
- Adheres to health and safety standards at all times.
- Maintains a high level of customer service with OSC Visitors and Members.
- Follows cashiering policy and procedures.
- Effectively explain the “journey of coffee”.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Experience: 1-2 years of customer service and supervisory experience, 1-2 years of cash handling experience.
3. Certifications: Prefer certified Cupper, Barista or other comparable certification a plus but not necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and Point Of Sales applications.
· Barista, customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
· Exceptional time management skill, organization skills, and high attention to detail.
· Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
· Food Management certification a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility
· Supporting the hiring, training and development of all staff
Physical Demands
· Ability to lift up to 45lbs and be on feet for extended periods of time.
· Ability to climb stairs, bend/twist, and squat frequently.
· Must be able to operate coffee equipment and be comfortable with loud noises.
Expected Hours of Work
· Must be able to work weekends. Occasional early morning or evening work required.
Travel
· Travel required – for third party training and as needed to pick up supplies and materials.
Telecommuting
· This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
