CNC Machinist

Ambridge, PA

$21.00 / hour

M to F – 7 am to 4:30 pm

Description

· Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements

· Set-up, operate, edit and program CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts

· Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders

· Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media

Qualifications

· One-year certificate from college or technical school or apprenticeship program in Machine Shop technology; OR three or more years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience

· Able to read and understand engineering blueprints

· Knowledge of speeds and feeds for machining all types of metals

· Able to use micrometers, electronic gauges, calipers, and similar tools/equipment

· Knowledge of metric conversion; able to work in Metric and English units

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Must pass background and drug screen.

· Must pass physical exam.
