The Data & Analytics Engineering (D&AE) team at Evernorth builds solutions that provide actionable insights to internal and external business partners and customers that help reduce health costs, improve outcomes, provide financial security, grow and retain clients and measure and forecast business performance. The Client Reporting organization within D&AE is looking for a strong Data Engineer that will be responsible for designing and building the strategic Next Gen Client Reporting data layer that will be used for Reporting, Analytics, Data exploration etc. and the data processing pipelines/solutions, analysis as needed across various subject areas, building automated solutions for DQ checks, ABC controls and monitoring processes.

This role requires the candidate to be fluent in some of the critical technologies with proficiency in others and have a hunger to learn on the job and add value to the business. Critical attributes of being an Engineer, among others, is Ownership & Accountability. In addition to delivery, the candidate should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset. He/She should drive the adoption of CI/CD tools and support the improvement of the tools sets/processes. In this role, you will actively partner with various Program leads, business stakeholders, subject matter experts, upstream data Leads/teams to understand the different business lines of data we need to be able to conform or build KPIs off of, for initiatives that support Cigna's strategic goals centered on affordability, growth and retention of clients and quality of care.

Requirements:
3+ years of working in an object-oriented language: Python, Scala

3+ years being part of Agile teams – Scrum or Kanban

5+ years of database & strong SQL skills

Knowledge of Data Structures & Algorithms

Experience with big data technologies a plus, such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark Work in an agile CI/CD environment (Jenkins experience a plus)

  • Detailed oriented with proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Experience on Cloud Technologies like AWS is a strong preference.

Experience in Data Tools such as Toad, GITHUB, Hue – Hive/Impala must have.

Experience working with APIs, postman

Demonstrated 5-7 years of extensive experience in data processing, particularly using healthcare and clinical data such as: Claim, Membership, Client Structure, Benefits, and Utilization Management/Case Management etc. a plus.

Healthcare experience is a huge plus, preferably focused on data warehousing

Experience working with Data Stewards, Data Modelers will be a plus.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 115,100 - 191,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
