Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Client and Matter Analyst in the Client and Matter Administration Department. Reporting to the Firm Database Maintenance Supervisor, this position will be responsible for maintaining the firm’s Conflicts Database.
This position will reside in the Philadelphia office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintains the Elite 3E and iManage Conflicts databases as it pertains to client and matter data.
  • Proofreads and publishes the firm Pending New Business report.
  • Performs conflict analysis on proposed client or matter party updates and facilitate proper communication and coordination of identified issues.
  • Proactively communicates with firm attorneys and support staff to understand conflicts of interest issues and independently reviews, researches, and resolves conflicts issues.
  • Composes written and verbal correspondence with attorneys and other support staff.
  • Answers email inquiries for status requests.
  • Proofreads and re-checks material to confirm accuracy.
  • Performs research, locating material from various sources inside and outside the firm.
  • Processes a wide variety of conflicts database change requests.
  • Ensures compliance with ethics related to firm policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and assists with data entry tasks.
  • Provides support and training to the Conflicts Database Assistants.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Associate degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience; law firm experience is a plus. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and oral communication skills are required.
  • Creative and analytical thinking, project management and research skills.
  • Strong client service mentality.
  • Ability to concentrate clearly on highly detailed information, to identify conflicts of interest questions and resolve them in a consensus environment and to keep confidential information regarding firm matters.
  • Ability to work independently as well as interact effectively with all organizational levels and a diverse group and to exercise the appropriate amount of discretion in escalating and communicating issues.
