Job Description: RESPEC, a nationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks an experienced individual to provide project construction observation services at our Albuquerque, New Mexico, location. The work will focus on performing construction observation duties on primarily public infrastructure projects, including streets, storm sewer, water and sanitary sewer, detention ponds, channels, and dams. This position has flexibility to be part time or full-time with an opportunity to grow into a Construction Observer department lead within our Community Design Solutions group

Responsibilities include: Coordinating with government agencies, contractors, and other field personnel while performing field observations; meticulous communication and record keeping; and preparing closeout packages for submittal to agencies such as the City of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority (SSCAFCA), and Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority (AMAFCA)..

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have at least 4 years of experience in construction-related fields with the following preferred qualifications:

• Understanding of construction methods for roads and utilities
• Ability to read and understand construction plans
• Familiarity with City of Albuquerque and American Public Works Association (APWA) specifications
• Understanding of construction staking
• Familiarity with software applications that aid in daily recording of site information
• Ability to produce clear markups for producing as-built drawings
• Familiarity with the expectations of the City of Albuquerque closeout process.

Compensation: Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
