UPSIDE is seeking a strategic thinker and do-er to join as a Chief of Staff to the CEO to support executing on the CEO agenda. This is a critical and high-visibility role, and the Chief of Staff will gain a broad-cross functional view of our company working with some of the most talented and brilliant colleagues during an incredible time of growth and phase shift of the enterprise.

The right candidate for this position must be adaptable to dynamically changing responsibilities. This person will seamlessly transition from providing direct daily support for the CEO – to owning and executing high priority initiatives on the CEO agenda. This role is well-suited for a highly athletic generalist with a strong work ethic who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities include…

  • Thought partnership with the CEO on key strategic priorities and how to effectively execute on them.
  • Working with the CEO to draft regular internal and external communications and presentations and press Q&A.
  • Rapid development and turnaround of presentations/models for internal, external, and board meetings.
  • Keeping a close eye on company critical OKRs and alert CEO to at-risk OKRs of teams including rolling up your sleeves as needed to get critical OKRs to completion in partnership with the senior leadership team. Acting as a strong representative and ambassador of the CEO and company where necessary.
  • Travel with the CEO or represent the CEO at internal and external meetings, off-sites and conferences as needed.
  • Being professional and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and accuracy in your work.

About you…

  • You have 10+ years experience in project management, strategy, business operations, and/or management consulting roles – with experience in both client-service and industry roles. MBA is required.
  • You have genuine interest in and passion for UPSIDE’s mission.
  • You are an excellent listener and written communicator, including excellent slide deck, modeling, and Excel skills.
  • You have experienced and driven success in a wide breadth of business contexts and with a diverse set of teams.
  • You have a history of collaborating well with teammates and building trust-based relationships.
  • You are good at absorbing ambiguous and complex challenges – and then efficiently identifying a critical path forward.
  • You are a strong critical thinker and problem-solver with experience bridging deep technical and business considerations.
  • You are able to bring fun to challenging and high-pressure environments and are able to prioritize based on context.
  • You do not believe any job is too big or too small and take pride in your capacity to and capability to continue to learn and wear an enterprise hat.

  • This role will partner with many major functions in the company! It’s a rare opportunity to learn about all parts of the business and industry.
  • While we expect growth in all functions in the next 1-2 years, this role will most frequently interact with those in the Office of the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
