Position: Chief Accountant [0002] E

Program: Amarillo, Texas – Accounting/Payroll

Salary: DOE (depending on experience)

Shift available: Full-Time

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Perform month-end accounting activities
• Direct and indirect supervision of accounting team members
• Prepare and oversee GL accounts & bank reconciliations
• Oversee payroll processing
• Ensure that necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled to meet federal/state funding requirements
• Coordinate with accounting and other teams to complete assigned tasks within deadlines
• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting and four (4) years experience in accounting; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field which include 18 credit hours in Accounting and six (6) years experience in accounting
• Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft office (Excel)

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

• Knowledge of governmental financial reporting standards (GASB) which include fund accounting, trust accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• MBA or CPA
