JOB SUMMARY: Recovery coach is responsible for assisting in the monitoring of the emotional well-being of clients. This could include monitoring meals and snacks, assisting in the preparation of meals and snacks as well offering support and modeling of appropriate food behaviors by eating with clients. The Recovery Coach will be responsible for client observation periods after meals and snacks and be able to offer support to clients who are struggling. Will be transporting clients to doctor’s appointments (in company car) AA meetings, etc. and be able to offer individualized support. Will be prepared to respond to emergency situations in accordance with current standards. Will assist new client intakes into Satori House and be responsible for facilitating conflict resolution when difficulties arise. Generally all staff in support of milieu management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update treatment team at end of shift regarding client progress, challenges, compliance
- Observe, participate and consume meals and snacks with clients, modeling appropriate food behaviors and offering support before, during and after mealtimes
- Maintain awareness and challenge client conversations or activities that could compromise clients' integrity or recovery
- Assist clients in completing life skills assignments, being sensitive to individual client needs
- Respond to emergency and crisis situations with competency, following Shoreline/Satori House policy
- Prepare meals and snacks; supervise clients as they prepare their own meals and snacks, ensuring adherence to each client's individual meal plan
- Provide routine maintenance of Satori House, including cleaning and yard care
- Facilitate and assist with scheduling contractor or outside service personnel regarding household repairs
- Facilitate new client orientations, including performing luggage and bag searches with sensitivity
- Facilitate goodbye ceremonies, house meetings and conflict resolution conversations
- Facilitate education based groups
- Perform other duties as assigned
ISJP123
Basic knowledge of eating disorders and/or basic psychology courses- Experience in a counseling setting (peer or professional) i.e. human services, volunteering or some type of mental health capacity
- current CNA certification in state of California
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Basic knowledge of mental health diagnoses and some understanding of eating disorders
- Ability to listen with empathy and compassion as well as set firm boundaries
- Must display cultural sensitivity as well as competency
