In 2021, Montana State University College of Nursing received a historic philanthropic investment of $101 million from Mark and Robyn Jones to transform healthcare in Montana. The Montana State University Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing offers a baccalaureate in nursing, accelerated baccalaureate in nursing, Master of Nursing focused on clinical leadership, and Doctor of Nursing Practice with focus as either a family nurse practitioner or a psych-mental health nurse practitioner. The College has five campus locations across the state, located in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Kalispell, and Missoula.

The Campus Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the local campus faculty, staff and students, as well as the Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing equipment and leased facilities associated with that campus. The Campus Director works cooperatively with the Assistant Campus Director and collaboratively with the College’s Leadership Team. Teaching expectations are balanced to accommodate administrative responsibilities and other faculty expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of the curricula on the campus.
Interpret and assure adherence to University and College policies on the campus.
Orient faculty to the campus/College/University goals, roles, policies, and procedures.
Make faculty undergraduate teaching assignments and collaborate with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in finalizing graduate teaching assignments considering areas of expertise/education, needs of curricula/campus, and individual faculty goals.
Support faculty research agendas.
Coordinate and facilitate ongoing relationships to assure positive and productive student learning experiences with acute care, primary/ambulatory care, and community health organizations.
Initiate and/or maintain clinical agency agreements with clinical teaching agencies.
Coordinate and plan consolidated clinical schedules with other nursing and health-related education programs in the community and, as appropriate, statewide.
Assign academic advisors and oversee student advisement.
Orient students to campus, college policies, and local resources.
Facilitate acknowledgment/recognition of student achievement.
Facilitate acknowledgment/recognition of faculty and staff excellence.
Advise, communicate policies, communicate/discuss options with students having academic difficulty or need for variance in curriculum in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Supervise the campus administrative staff.
Perform faculty and staff annual evaluations.
Coordinate work and duties with the Assistant Campus Director.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
An earned graduate degree from an accredited program in nursing or in a related field.
License or ability to become licensed as a registered nurse in Montana by date of hire.
Demonstrated experience as a nurse educator in a collegiate or university setting.
Demonstrated management or leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Preference for senior level (associate or full professor) tenure-track eligible faculty.
Prior management or leadership experience in higher education.
Demonstrated experience in engagement with the community or public relations activities.
Demonstrated experience in motivating and managing faculty, staff, and students.
Demonstrated experience with multiple sites and/or distance delivery of education.

The Successful Candidate Will
Demonstrate a strong desire to work in collaboration with the College’s Leadership Team to support faculty efforts to educate students, create knowledge, and serve communities by integrating learning, discovery, and engagement.
Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative decision-making and increasing the role of under-represented groups in nursing.
Demonstrate strong oral communication skills in communicating with a variety of audiences using various media.
Demonstrate an ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators in the College and diverse constituents external to the College, and the ability to work collaboratively to develop a vision for the future of nursing education and research.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
Appointment: Full-time (1.0 FTE) tenure track or non-tenure track; Academic year (10 month) appointment with additional, negotiable summer appointment. Academic rank negotiable.

If the position is hired at NTT, this position MAY BE a Union position. Union membership is determined by the amount of work being contracted.

Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). Faculty covered by AFMSU may choose to pay membership dues. Additional information can be found at AFMSU or by emailing AFMSU.
Any position less than .5 FTE is not represented by the Union and is not required to pay dues.

The Program
The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing baccalaureate program includes two years of lower-division study that can be completed at any campus and two years of study at an upper-division campus site (Bozeman, Billings, Great Falls, Kalispell and Missoula). Faculty members are assigned to a campus where they live, work and supervise students in a variety of health care agencies.
