We are currently hiring a Cafe Attendant & Barista for Part Time & Full Time Positions!

As a member of our front-of-house team, you’ll be a part of creating memorable & enjoyable experiences for our guests during their visit.

As a Cafe Attendant & Barista, you will be the first person our guests will see when they walk through our cafe’s doors! In this position, you will be promptly seating or taking in orders of our delicious Cafe items - which includes Ice Cream, Breakfast, Lunch, Coffee, and Soft Drinks. You will be responsible for scooping and making guests' creative Ice Cream orders along with ensuring the stock and readiness of behind the counter cafe items such as cups, glasses, ice, toppings, ice cream cones, and to-go hot food items. On the Barista side of this position, you will be provided training by Seattle’s Barista Academy to efficiently and confidently handle taking and preparing coffee-related orders to our guest’s requests at the cafe. Overall, this position ensures that all guests' orders are efficiently and promptly made to perfection. You will also ensure that your workstations and lobby meet our cleanliness guidelines. Lastly, you will be a big part of the reason why our guests return time and time again.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet & welcome guests as they enter our cafe
• Promptly seat or take guest's orders of any cafe items (Ice Cream, Food, Drinks, Coffee)
• Understand the restaurant's menu completely to engage guests in choosing menu items, to answer guest’s questions, and anticipate the guests’ needs
• Efficiently Scoop Ice Cream order creations to perfection
• Maintain stock of toppings and cones for Ice Cream creations
• Bake Waffle cones and maintain their stock throughout your shift
• Confidently brew and serve coffee related in-house and to-go orders to our guests' exact order
• Communicate orders to our Kitchen via our POS system
• Monitor online pickup orders and make sure they are available upon guest arrival
• Maintain stock of to-go items
• Ensure that behind the counter, workstations, and lobby are at our standard per our cleanliness and sanitation guidelines
• Have a willingness to perform other tasks as assigned by manager
• Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as set by our house policy book
• Follow all general and company policies and procedures
• Perform service tasks as directed by Front of House & Policy Book
• Must be familiar with all significant features of food menu items in the cafe
• Must be familiar with our property and services provided

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must be at least 18+ years of age
• No previous work experience is necessary, but any restaurant or cafe experience is a plus (We will train you regardless)
• Must possess great communications skills to effectively greet and speak with guests and/or team members
• Strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Strong work ethic, team focus, and commitment to guest service
• Additional languages spoken are a plus

REQUIRED LICENSES + VERIFICATION:

• Must possess/have the ability to obtain a current WA Food Handlers Permit (You can acquire this after you receive a job offer)
• All candidates must be willing to adhere and give written consent to a standard criminal record background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to lift, push and carry up to 20 - 50 lbs. unassisted
• Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and bending without restriction
• Must have the ability to reach below/above shoulder level continuously
• Must be able to read and write handwritten notes

Pay: $18 - $23 an Hour + Tips / We will negotiate a competitive rate within this range!

*All employees must undergo a 90-day probationary period from orientation start - where we will educate and evaluate your performance throughout to ascertain your fit within our company. A Benefits Package will be granted upon successful completion of 90 day probation period.
