Job description
SMX is seeking an entry-level Drafter to join our team at Webster Outlying Field. This position is onsite in Saint Inigoes, MD.
The Drafter I prepares various drawings/computer models of units such as construction projects or parts and assemblies. This includes various views, sectional profiles, irregular or reverse curves, hidden lines, and small or intricate details. Work requires use of most of the conventional drafting and CAD techniques and a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall drafting support including originating, designing, preparing, and interpreting general designs and drawings
- Populate detailed weekly reports
- Track work by using good document control practices within our request system
Required Skills and Experience:
- Clearance Required: Secret
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Familiar with AutoCAD software
- Familiar with SolidWorks
- Experience with manipulating list with MS Excel
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro
Desired Experience:
- Drafting Certificate from a technical center
- Have SolidWorks certification
- Have AutoCAD experience
