The Buyer is responsible for overseeing the execution of purchase orders and managing large-scale supply chain projects impacting the company’s business activities. The Buyer will support Campbell’s supply chain strategy and advance new directives from the Division management. This position is located in Houston, Texas and reports directly to the Manager – Supply Chain.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement methods to gather and manage supply chain data.
  • Manage day-to-day diesel fuel metrics and reporting.
  • Research and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods.
  • Research partner companies and seek to negotiate best-price contracts to increase business revenue.
  • Work with and support the procurement team in identifying new procurement opportunities through running reports, data analysis, and engagement with critical stakeholders to ensure that the supplier expenditure is appropriately managed.
  • Purchase supplies and manage inventory to support division execution.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values.
  • Assist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationships with business partners and vendors.
  • Strong working ability in Microsoft Excel.
  • Collaborate with Finance team to ensure the financial coding of products are accurate.
  • Supporting commercial negotiations with the full and clear sponsorship of the business owner to ensure that deals represent the best commercial outcome.
  • Direct implementation of indirect procurement projects.

Minimum Educational and Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business- or business-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of supply chain experience.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working ability in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and E-Procurement tools.

Preferred Educational and Job Qualifications:

  • Transportation and/or Inland Marine experience.
  • Project Management experience.
