**This position will be a hybrid work schedule (meaning 3 days in the office at and two days work from home) at our Corporate Houston, TX office OR our Omaha, NE Corporate office.

SouthernCarlson, Inc., a leading distributor of the most recognized brands of construction and packaging machines, tools, and supplies in the industry has an opening for a Business Analyst. Supported by our network of sales, service and repair techs, the company has evolved to encompass over 150 locations in the US and Mexico.

The Business Analyst plays a significant role in the selection, implementation, support, and business process improvements for the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution. This role requires knowledge of the distribution business. Primary job duties include end user support, defining business requirements,and providing solutions for business needs relating to the ERP and other 3rd party software products.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the requirements, selection, and implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Interview end users to build out and finalize business and functional requirements.
  • Assist end users to develop use cases, test scenarios, standard operating procedures, and business process models.
  • Develop training documentation and videos.
  • Assist with the coordination and testing for ERP upgrades and patches.
  • Define and implement the ERP access management,reports, and configuration.
  • Serve as an ERP spokesperson at meetings and events.
  • Understand current business enhancement opportunities and provide solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of the distribution industry trends and take initiative to drive the creation of best practices and process improvements.
  • Define the product roadmap for the ERP and other 3rd party solutions.
  • Interact positively and professionally with associates of all levels to build strong relationships.
  • Foster collaborative atmosphere (e.g., ask questions and encourage input from others).
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Other duties as applicable.
Qualifications
  • Six or more years of experience in a Business Analyst role. Must have experience creating the following documents: business case, project charter, business analysis plan, business requirements, functional requirements, software requirements, requirement traceability matrix, use case diagrams, test cases, and change management.
  • Knowledge of key ERP and distribution activities preferred – Sales Order Management, Purchase Order and Procurement Management, Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, Accounting and Finance Management, Logistics Management, Service Repair Management, Document Management, Integrations, Extensibility, Mobile Capabilities, Reports, Dashboards, and Business Intelligence.
  • Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Superior presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
